Online strategy essential for ambitions Leiden University
To realize these digital ambitions, Leiden University decided that it would focus on creating digital experiences, and signed a four-year contract with Hippo.
Hippo CMS will replace the currently used SDL Tridion system in order to manage content and create personalized digital content experiences. The University was looking for advanced features, but at the same time also wanted a user-friendly system which would provide editors and marketeers more freedom and possibilities.
For universities, marketing and communication are essential components of business operations. Today there is not only an expectation of a more proactive approach in the recruitment of students, but also in the online experience that they receive during that recruitment process. Hippo gives substance to the need for relevant content at the right time; the system excells in findability and creating multichannel experiences during the extensive recruitment process.
In addition, it’s a big advantage that Hippo CMS is open source which allows knowledge and readymade components to be exchanged. For example, other universities and research institutions who already use Hippo, such as the University of Amsterdam and University of University of Maryland, are already creating more optimal content experiences and can share their technology across the entire University community. Utilizing Hippo CMS can give Leiden University both a cost advantage and a faster time-to-market.
