Hippo speakers on ApacheCon US

The international convention of the Apache Software Foundation was held from the 12th till the 16th of November at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. ApacheCon US is focused on members of the Apache Software Foundation, developers, salesmen and users. The convention has a focus on open source and specificly within the Apache community.

Hippo speakers

Arjé Cahn, Apache PMC member and CTO of Hippo told last Wednesday the 14th during his session ‘Apache Enterprise Integration Techniques’ about the details of the mixes of Apache Jackrabbit, Jetspeed, Cocoon, Lucene and diverse other Apache projects and how with these a scalable company platform can be developed.

Ata Douma, Apache Member, Software Architect at Hippo and portal and portlet specialist was also one of the speakers. He leads the portal team at Hippo. Douma plays an important role in the Apache Community in regards of portals and the drawing up of worldwide portal standards. Also he is a committer for the Apache Jetspeed Enterprise Portal and Apache Portal Bridges. Furthermore he is a PMC member for Apache portals and member of the Java Community Expert Group for JSR286: Portlet specification 2.0.

During his session on ‘JSR286: Portlet specification 2.0 for Portal and Portlet Developers’ he spoke about the development of the worldwide portal standards.
