Therefore, to ensure the tool generates appropriate responses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Be clear and precise:<\/strong> Use language that\u2019s easy to understand, unambiguous, and asks one question at a time<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use natural language:<\/strong> Simple English is best, where prompts reflect how the user speaks and avoids using confusing jargon<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vary prompts:<\/strong> If a prompt returns a lengthy answer, ask ChatGPT to limit its response to one line or a few bullet points<\/li>\n<li><strong>Convey context:<\/strong> Include details about the audience or channel, and if possible, share a URL to provide more information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>ChatGPT Examples<\/h2>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomreach.com\/en\/blog\/using-chatgpt-for-marketing-automation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previous post<\/a>, we looked at ChatGPT use cases for marketing. By 2030, it\u2019s expected to surpass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1251145\/social-commerce-sales-worldwide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>$6 trillion<\/u><\/a>, up from $724 billion last year. Social media platforms provide a powerful source of inspiration \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/social-commerce-stats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>70%<\/u><\/a> of shoppers use Instagram to discover new products, like clothing or accessories. Additionally, it\u2019s a valuable source of revenue, with online stores that have a social media presence generating <a href=\"https:\/\/thesocialshepherd.com\/blog\/ecommerce-statistics#:~:text=eCommerce%20statistics%20show%20that%20online,increases%20a%20shop&#039;s%20discoverability%20online.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>32%<\/u><\/a> more in sales.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Social commerce is a huge untapped opportunity. Just <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/social-commerce-stats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>30%<\/u><\/a> of ecommerce companies sell on social media despite the number of purchases made through social platforms growing 35% year-on-year. After online furniture retailer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomreach.com\/en\/case-studies\/how-connox-uses-bloomreach-engagement-to-make-big-impact-on-its-team\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Connox<\/u><\/a> used A\/B testing with similar AI-powered technology, it was able to increase its conversion rate by 96%.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Using ChatGPT to support A\/B testing (note the use of emojis, which aligns with the specific social platform)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bloomreach.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/chatgpt-e-commerce_2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 2: Using ChatGPT to support A\/B testing (note the use of emojis, which aligns with the specific social platform).<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Product Descriptions<\/h3>\n<p>When sites do not provide good product descriptions, it leads to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomreach.com\/en\/blog\/strategies-to-improve-your-abandoned-cart-emails\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>abandoned carts<\/u><\/a> and unnecessary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomreach.com\/en\/blog\/e-commerce-returns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>returns<\/u><\/a>. This can damage a company\u2019s reputation, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onespace.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/10-stats-prove-importance-e-commerce-product-content-infographic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>54%<\/u><\/a> of shoppers are less likely to buy from a retailer after returning an item. Despite the risks, 10% of the largest ecommerce sites still fail to include sufficient detail in their product descriptions.<\/p>\n<p>The majority (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conversioner.com\/blog\/impact-of-product-description-on-ecommerce-conversions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>87%<\/u><\/a>) of online shoppers place a higher value on product descriptions because they replace the in-store experience, which allowed them to get hands-on with a product. They can set the context, introduce the audience to specific benefits, and communicate the value they stand to realize. It\u2019s an opportunity to educate, as well as sell, which enables them to invest in the customer long term to earn their trust and loyalty.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For high-ticket items, long-form content plays an important role because it attracts greater volumes of organic web traffic, gets shared extensively on social media, and generates <a href=\"https:\/\/wholesomecommerce.com\/long-form-content-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>seven times more leads<\/u><\/a> than short-form blog posts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Although ChatGPT has <a href=\"https:\/\/chat.openai.com\/?model=text-davinci-002-render-sha\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>limitations<\/u><\/a> with writing long-form content, it plays an instrumental role in supporting users who produce content. For example, a customer may use Facebook to keep up with their child&#8217;s clubs, Twitter for work, and Instagram for personal use \u2014 hitting them with the right message at the right time in the right channel will optimize their likelihood of conversion.<\/p>\n<p>While ChatGPT isn\u2019t recommended for writing long-form content, it is very good for proofreading \u2014 it\u2019s able to fix typos and grammatical errors, as well as provide suggestions for alternate phrasing or how to improve the copy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Using ChatGPT to help with proofreading\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bloomreach.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/chatgpt-e-commerce_6.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 6: Using ChatGPT to help with proofreading.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Customer Service<\/h3>\n<p>By 2026, worldwide retail ecommerce sales are forecasted to grow by 56% to reach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/379046\/worldwide-retail-e-commerce-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>$8.1 trillion<\/u><\/a>. When just under a fifth (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gnani.ai\/resources\/blogs\/ecommerce-customer-service-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>19%<\/u><\/a>) of shoppers believe customer service is exceeding their expectations, improving your customer experience is a lucrative opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>The majority (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gnani.ai\/resources\/blogs\/ecommerce-customer-service-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>82%<\/u><\/a>) of shoppers are prepared to spend more on ecommerce brands that deliver a great service, and what they want most is a response to their queries within an hour. ChatGPT is the perfect way to deliver that responsiveness with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomreach.com\/en\/products\/content\/content-personalization\">personalized content<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT enables organizations to personalize product recommendations based on a shopper\u2019s browsing and buying history \u2014 for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomreach.com\/en\/case-studies\/arriva-uk-bus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Arriva UK Bus<\/u><\/a> used AI-powered personalization to increase its revenue by 380%. It\u2019s also useful for responding to reviews, either thanking customers or taking action to discover what the company can do to rectify a bad experience.
