Dolce & Gabbana Deploys Hippo CMS 7 for its Blogzine Swide

Hippo, developer of open source Web Content Management and Portal software, headquartered in San Francisco and Amsterdam is proud to announce that Dolce & Gabbana, one the world's leading fashion and luxury brands has chosen Hippo CMS as the foundation for it's future web development. After extensive comparison Hippo CMS was chosen for scalability, performance, ease of development, and last but not least it's superior user friendly interface. Allowing Dolce & Gabbana's non-technical users to be more productive.

On May 23rd the online magazine dedicated to fashion, luxury and lifestyle Swide was the first site to go live on Hippo CMS.  As a leading luxury and fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana demanded total freedom and creativity in their website design, while at the same time their editors requested an easy to use system. The clean separation of content en design in Hippo CMS provided in this. The site was entirely designed around creating different content overviews based on tags. Other requirements where obviously high availability and performance, Hippo CMS was integrated in a Akamai delivery environment to provide fast load times round the globe. The implementation of the Swide website in Hippo CMS and full content migration from the old system was done in under 8 weeks by Italian service provider Killnine.

Dennis Valle, Executive Director of Group Digital Marketing and Communication at Dolce & Gabbana said: "Hippo CMS provides us with a stable platform that allows our editors to focus on their strength: bringing the best of style to our readers. The system is indeed very easy to use. We are very happy that we can rely on Hippo's professional support, this gave us peace of mind deploying the solution."

In the selection process Dolce & Gabbana's technical team did extensive performance testing of various CMS solutions. An other important requirement was the adaptability and flexibility of the CMS user interface. Hippo's plug-in based architecture allowed them to streamline the user experience and to integrate with other systems in the future.

Jeroen Verberg (CEO of Hippo) said: "We are excited to work for such a well known and high regarded brand as Dolce&Gabbana, it shows the maturity of our solution. I was also impressed by the fact that whole migration was done so smoothly and that the site went live a week ahead of the original schedule".
