University of Maryland Libraries is the largest university library system in the Washington D.C.-Baltimore area, serving the educational needs of 127 undergraduate degrees and 112 graduate degrees in thirteen different colleges and schools of the University of Maryland.

Challenge

In 2013, the University of Maryland Libraries undertook the transformation of its digital landscape, starting with implementing a content management system. They were looking for a system that integrated easily, fit with the university’s open source philosophy, empowered end-users while giving flexibility to developers—and could be implemented before the end of the summer holidays.
