The University of Maryland

University of Maryland Libraries is the largest university library system in the Washington D.C.-Baltimore area, serving the educational needs of 127 undergraduate degrees and 112 graduate degrees in thirteen different colleges and schools of the University of Maryland.

“Whereas previously difficult to support and update, thanks to BloomReach Experience, our users can now easily maintain the English and Japanese versions of the site."

Ben Wallberg, Manager of Software Systems Development and Research at The University of Maryland

In 2013, the University of Maryland Libraries undertook the transformation of its digital landscape, starting with implementing a content management system. They were looking for a system that integrated easily, fit with the university’s open source philosophy, empowered end-users while giving flexibility to developers—and could be implemented before the end of the summer holidays.

BloomReach Experience was an easy choice for the amount of freedom and flexibility it gives to developers, while supporting seamless integration with all major data sources, enterprise solutions, and development tools and technologies (and of course its open source foundation). The implementation was completed quickly and includes a fully responsive, multilingual, omnichannel user experience.
